CEPMC ist eine europäische Vereinigung der nationalen Dachorganisationen.
Ein typisches CEPMC Mitglied vereinigt viele nationale Verbände, die zusammen alle Arten von Baustoffen und Bauprodukten umfassen, wie die mineralischen Baustoffe, Holz, Plastik oder Baustoffe aus Metall .
Gegründet 1988, ist CEPMC eine nicht gewinnbringende Organisation unter belgischem Recht (AISBL).
CEPMC vertritt die Interessen seiner Mitglieder auf europäischer Ebene und befasst sich hauptsächlich mit horizontalen Aufgaben. Diese variieren, fokussieren sich aber z.Z. auf die Implementierung der Bauproduktenrichtlinie, Fragen des Brandschutzes, Umweltfragen und Themen der Rohstoffsicherung ein. Den Mitgliedern wird Gelegenheit geboten, engen Kontakt mit europäischen Institutionen sowie mit anderen Verbänden der Bauwirtschaft (z.B. Architekten, Unternehmer, Entwickler) zu halten. CEPMC arbeitet auch mit europäischen Branchenorganisationen der Baustoffindustrie zusammen, dessen Mehrheit CEPMC als auβerordentliche Mitglieder verbunden sind.
CEPMC beobachtet die europäischen gesetzgebenden, administrativen und ökonomischen Entwicklungen, welche die Baustoff- und Bauproduktenwirtschaft beeinflussen, und stellt sicher, wann immer möglich, dass die Interessen der Industrie in Betracht gezogen werden. Um dieses sicherzustellen, bemüht sich CEPMC bei allen wichtigen gesamteuropäischen Themen zwischen seinen Mitgliedern einen Konsens der Industriepositionen herzustellen.
